CGAP presented a session with GRID Impact entitled “Design is Not Enough: Using behavioral economics to improve financial services for the poor" 

Key Actions:

1. Rather than trying to change customers' behaviors, adapt products and services to better match existing consumer behavior. 

2. Use behavioral research to understand revealed preferences rather than designing products and services based on consumers' stated preferences, which may be misaligned with real behaviors. 

3. Design products and services such that they are feasible and viable for providers to offer and desirable for consumers.
